FAQs
What services do you offer?
At JK Critter Control we provide nuisance wildlife control services for homes and properties throughout Delaware County and surrounding counties. We are a private nuisance wildlife control company licensed through the Ohio Division of Natural Resources.
What is nuisance wildlife?
Nuisance animals are wild animals that create problems for people, homes, businesses, pets, or property. This can include damage, creating health or safety concerns, making excessive noise, leaving odors, or entering places they shouldn’t- such as attics, crawlspaces, garages, barns, chimneys, or under decks.
What are the nuisance animals you service?
Common nuisance animals in Ohio include raccoons, squirrels, skunks, groundhogs, opossums, moles, muskrats, and beavers. These animals are often looking for food, shelter, or a safe place to raise their young, but their presence can lead to property damage, contamination, or conflicts with people (see more information about these animals below.)
Who do i contact if i am not dealing with a nuisance animal?
It is important to note that we ARE NOT the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). ODNR is responsible for managing and protecting Ohio’s natural resources, wildlife, parks, forests, waterways, and public lands. If you have concerns about protected wildlife, contact ODNR at 1-800-945-3543.
Domesticated animals such as cats and dogs are not nuisance wildlife and are protected by Ohio law. Any concerns about these animals, contact your local Sheriff’s Office dog warden or reach out to your local humane society.
How does the process work? How much does it cost?
When you call and schedule and inspection with us. Our lead technician, Jarrod Kidwell, will come out and inspect the areas of concern. He will inspect entry/exit points, damaged areas, and identify nuisance animal species involved. He will provide a plan and estimate for the services needed.
When you decide to go with our services, we will set up necessary traps the same day.
We charge a $75 inspection fee. When you decide to go with our services, that amount is applied toward the set up fee. After set up, we charge per animal. We will trap until your problem is gone!
The price can vary depending on the situation. Give us a call today to schedule an inspection!
North America's only marsupial, known for playing dead, having 50 teeth, eating ticks, and possessing opposable thumbs on their back feet for climbing. Opossum's are beneficial to the ecosystem, but are highly over populated. They love your trash and can find a home in your outdoor structures!
Skunks, known for their foul-smelling musk, love to forage a night. Skunks love to burrow and dig for insects, causing damage to gardens, yards, and outdoor structures. Skunks will spray when threatened, causing issues for you, your kids, and your pets!
Groundhogs, a bully of all the nuisance critters, can be territorial. They love to find home in your outdoor structures while tearing up your garden!
Raccoons are likely to den in attics and crawl spaces. Highly skilled with their front paws, they use them to manipulate objects, open latches, and feel for food. Raccoon's are known to carry diseases like Rabies, Parvovirus, Distemper, and canine Hepatitis. All diseases harmful to your pets!
Beavers are highly territorial and are likely to mark boundaries with scent mounds. Extensive dam builders, they can cause flooding of roads, cropland, and property.
Ohio Squirrels can damage homes by chewing wires, installation, wood. They enjoy raiding your garden/bird feeders and often seek shelter in your attics and walls! Let us help you remove food sources and seal any entry points these critters can cause.
